Crochet Crown with apliquee – Free pattern

I have 2 boys and a girl, she is the youngest but even before she arrives to the family I used to make little crowns for my boys ( one of my first experience in crochet) and they love it!!

It’s a health and great things to incentive kids to play and dress up, can you find a funnier way to?

What You’ll Need
5.00mm Crochet Hook
60g DK Yarn
Tapestry/Wool Needle
45cm Ribbon
Sewing Needle
Finished Size
Newborn, 0 – 3 Months Old
{Head Circumference 13.5 inches, 34cm.}
This crown fits all sizes
{Easily adjustable, as explained in pattern}
Row 1 :
Chain 42 ( newborn size, or just chain the size of the child head circumference )
Row 2 : chain 2, dcall around
Row 3:
chain 2, skp 1, dc chain 1 dc chain 1, skp 1, dc, skp 1, dc chain 1 dc, skp 1, dc, skp 1…
Row 4: chain 2, dc all around
Row 5: Repeat row 3
Row 6: chain 2, shell stich (3dc chain 1 3dc) in the V opening from the row 5. sc in the next V, shell stich, sc, shell stich
Row 7:  Repeat row 6
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
Once you’ve finished the crown, take the 45cm of ribbon and weave it through the crowns band, all around. Taking your sewing needle and thread, embellish your crown with pearls and beads or the star applique with felt and stuff.
